TVS Ntorq 150 Review: A Sporty 150cc Scooter at the Right Price

TVS Motor Company has officially stepped into the 150cc scooter category with the launch of the TVS Ntorq 150. Positioned as a sporty alternative for young riders, the Ntorq 150 bridges the styling of a 125cc scooter with the performance of a 150cc machine. TVS calls it a ‘Hyper Sport’ scooter, and it aims to carve out a fresh segment in India’s two-wheeler market.

Engine & Performance

The TVS Ntorq 150 is powered by a reworked version of the Ntorq 125’s motor — now upgraded to a 149.7cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder engine. It uses an air-cooled setup with an oil cooler, instead of a radiator fan like the Yamaha Aerox 155 or Hero Xoom 160. The engine produces 13.2 hp and 14.2 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission.

Performance is lively, with 0–60 km/h achieved in 6.3 seconds. Cruising at 60–80 km/h is effortless, while the scooter can stretch to around 100 km/h with some effort. Vibrations are well controlled, only noticeable near triple-digit speeds. The deep and sporty exhaust note adds to the scooter’s character, a trademark of TVS machines.

Chassis, Brakes & Ride Quality

Despite being larger than the Ntorq 125, the Ntorq 150 is not a maxi-scooter. It shares the same 12-inch wheels, re-engineered main frame, and suspension setup with its smaller sibling. Braking performance is enhanced with single-channel ABS and traction control.

On the road, it feels agile enough for city traffic, though slightly less nimble than the 125 due to added weight. The ride quality leans on the firmer side, giving it a sporty character. However, a detailed verdict on comfort will come only after extensive city rides.

Design & Features

Inspired by the TVS Graphite concept, the Ntorq 150 gets sharp, aggressive styling. The scooter features twin LED projector headlamps, four sporty color options, and a slightly front-heavy stance. The paint finish and build quality feel premium.

The top variant offers a full-color TFT display with connectivity and navigation features, enhancing the modern appeal.

Ergonomics & Practicality

  • Seat height: 770 mm – manageable for most riders, though shorter individuals may tip-toe.
  • Kerb weight: 115 kg – easy to handle in traffic.
  • Under-seat storage: 22 litres – decent, plus a front apron storage scoop.
  • Seat: Long and wide, but the floorboard could have been roomier.

Price & Verdict

The TVS Ntorq 150 is priced between Rs 1.19 lakh and Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), making it significantly more affordable than the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155.

With its sharp styling, sporty performance, and competitive pricing, the Ntorq 150 creates a new sub-segment in the Indian scooter market — offering a balance between daily practicality and fun riding.

Verdict: If you’re looking for a stylish scooter with the punch of a 150cc engine at an accessible price, the TVS Ntorq 150 is worth serious consideration.
